Design – Of course, you’ll want your smart kettle to blend in with your kitchen so the design is important. Look out for kettles with stainless steel or chrome finishes for a premium look. Having a water meter on the front can also improve the functionality of the kettle for those using it without an app. Setting it up is easy. It only takes a few minutes to connect it to your WiFi network and start controlling it using your phone.

Best Smart Kettles in 2023 [UK Guide] - Smart Home Insider

There are a lot of smart things nowadays from fridges to light bulbs. These are high-tech kitchen appliances that can communicate with other appliances or a smartphone via a network connection like WiFi. The wifi perks are a lot more than a flashy modern tech parade, we swear! The Appkettle will make coffee and tea-drinkers’ lives a lot easier. All you have to do is fill it, almost everything else can be done via voice or remote. If you’re not on the smart kettle trend, it’s time to get with it! Read on to learn how the Appkettle can make you the perfect brew and so much more! Tech Specs If you are always looking for new additions to your smart home network, the third generation of the popular Smarter iKettle is a good choice. A: If you want precise control with your kettle including choosing the perfect temperatures for your tea, then a smart kettle is definitely worth it. Also, if your home or office has a lot of coffee and tea drinkers, then again, you'll certainly get your money's worth with a smart kettle. However, if you live alone and only have coffee or tea first thing in the morning, you may be able to settle for an ordinary kettle. Q: What is the best WiFi kettle?

The Weekett Wifi kettle is one of the best Wifi kettles. The only downside is that it’s currently only shipped with a UK style plug. So you will need an adapter to use it in Australia. It does run off 240 volts. I prefer the Weekett app and functions to the Kogan kettle, but it’s a bit annoying that it doesn’t have an AU plug. A wifi kettle is connected to your network and allows you to turn it on remotely via an app or voice control. Unfortunately in Australia we have a limited range of smart kettles with wifi. The Best Smart Kettles Available in Australia Capacity - When it comes to the capacity of smart kettles you’re going to encounter a similar volume as you would for any standard electric kettle. That means capacities of anywhere from about 1.5 liters to 2 liters. Unless you are boiling a full kettle every time, the capacity may not be all that significant. After all, most people boil for a single cup or two. Of course, if you have a large family or need a kettle in the office for multiple cups of coffee or tea, a larger capacity may be needed.

Your smartphone. If it comes with an app, is it compatible with your smartphone and operating system? And you won’t ever have to worry about your water boiling over onto the base and the counter again. Whether the water is boiling or not, if the Appkettle detects a high level, it will disable the heat. Energy Consumption The app that goes along with the kettle is easy to use and provides a ton of benefit; almost like a personal scheduler. Temperature control - Precise temperature control is one of the outstanding characteristics of the smart kettle. Unlike a standard electric kettle where you hit the button, the water comes to a boil and the kettle shuts off, with a smart kettle, you can program the exact temperature you want the water to be. Once it reaches that temperature you can then keep it there for varying lengths of time, depending on the kettle. This type of control is great for brewing the perfect cup of tea or making different types of coffee. Herbal teas, white teas and green teas all need different temperatures to bring out the flavors without scorching the leaves.Or try this scenario out: you’re in a cooking frenzy and for some reason, you skipped turning the coffee pot on before the guests arrived. But your hands are filthy, too much of a mess for your phone or kettle buttons. Your average smart-kettle can turn on remotely from your smartphone or shut off automatically when things get too hot. But the unbeatable features of the Appkettle go far and beyond your average “high-tech” kitchen utensil. Voice-Enabled Control Voice Control – The most important consideration for me is whether the device can be activated with your voice. Smart homes are becoming increasingly reliant on voice commands so Alexa or Google Assistant support is a must-have. The tea settings are a great feature. Even if you are not an expert at brewing tea, you can still make a perfect cup. As far as the basics go, smart kettles operate in almost exactly the same way as standard kettles, just with a few added extras, the main one being they allow you to control your kettle from your mobile phone.

I’ll also point out that I couldn’t find a version with a UK plug, so you’ll need an EU-UK adaptor if you’re hoping to use this at home. One final note is that I thought the Mi Kettle looks very cheap compared to the other smart kettles I have reviewed here which isn’t what you want when it costs so much. After an easy setup, you’ve added your kettle to the list of smart devices you can command with just your voice. When you want that hot water for tea, coffee, soup or Ramen, all you need to do is ask Alexa to fix it up for you! Baby Bottle Mode The Appkettle doesn’t have any voice assistant support such as Alexa or Google Home which is a major downside for me. However, you can still create schedules if you want boiling water waiting for you when you wake up or get home from work. It’s generally easy to use, the double windows are a good idea and the tea temperature settings are super convenient. The Appkettle looks more like a traditional kettle and will blend in well in your kitchen. Unlike the Smarter iKettle, this one has a water meter on the side which allows you to see the water level without opening it or using the app. At 1.7L it’s roughly the same size as the Smarter iKettle. If Alexa or another voice-activated device is within earshot, then you’ve got all the commands of your Appkettle available to you. We’ve mentioned above how this can come in handy around the house, in numerous situations.
