About this deal

Even if you don’t use the Grayl UltraPress regularly, you should still change the filter after three years, when it reaches the end of its shelf life. Using the filter after this time may prove ineffective. FlipCarry® handle rotates 90° for effortless separation (Inner Press from Outer ReFill) and easy carrying; provides a large pressing surface when flat.

Grayl’s UltraPress is significantly smaller than the GeoPress. The 2.5cm difference in height might not sound like a lot but it’s instantly noticeable. Filters: Particulates (sediment, microplastics) and ultra-powdered activated carbon adsorbs many chemicals (including PFAS & VOCs), pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, flavors and odors.

UltraPress now has a boost! All bottles ship with a One-Way Valve pre-installed making it possible to add electrolytes, drink mixes and other flavored liquids directly into an UltraPress. For the first few mornings, I simply used the outer cup as my coffee cup. The butterfly handle felt great in my hand and the cup did an awesome job of keeping my coffee warm. While that’s all well and good, I was really curious about how the filter would handle the heavy runoff water beneath our camp. (Photo/Josh Kirchner) Durability: CP4 Grade 1 titanium offers unparalleled strength to weight ratio an withstands 6 ft drops (full of water) onto concrete. FlipCarry™handlerotates 90° for effortless separation (Inner Press from Outer ReFill) and easy carrying; provides a large pressing surface when flat.

Materials: Made from BPA-FREE polypropylene #5, food-grade silicone, TPE and ABS food-grade plastic. The FlipCarryâ„¢ handle found on the UltraPress adds a shit ton of tech to the cap. Why? The FlipCarryâ„¢ handled provides an enlarged pressing surface when flat; rotates 90° for effortless separation and easy carrying. May not sound like a big deal but it is.Multi-functional SimpleVent™drink cap vents air (by twisting cap ½ turn) during purification and filtration; protects spout from cross-contamination. Looking for an efficient water purifier but don’t want extra weight or bulk? Good news: GRAYL just slimmed down its eponymous water filter bottle into an ultralight option. My first gripe about the UltraPress came on a morning I wanted to use the outer cup on a stove to boil water. I never got to that point because the outer cup didn’t fit on any of the stoves in our camp. It’s just too narrow.

It’s also worth noting that the slimmer filter on the UltraPress has a slightly different attachment mechanism to the GeoPress filter. It’s not just a matter of screwing it into place – or unscrewing it to remove it. There’s also a small plastic tab that you need to pry open before it will unscrew. And you’ll need to ensure that the tab is clipped into place correctly when screwing the filter on. It’s fiddly but that’s a small price to pay for safe, clean water! Award winning OnePress™ global protectionis effective on all 7 continents and empowers adventurers and travelers to drink from the world’s sketchiest water sources. Simply — Fill.Press.Drink.™ Ultra-powdered activated carbon adsorbs many chemicals (including PFAS & VOCs), pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, flavors and odors. For context, I had the cap on, and I opened it half a turn to vent air. I was using the filter press on a surface about hip-high. It may have been faster if I had pressed down on the ground. So filter times may vary depending on your method.

ONE PRESS® GLOBAL PURIFICATION

Durability: CP4 Grade 1 titanium offers unparalleled strength to weight ratio and withstands 6 ft drops (full of water) onto concrete. Filters:Particulates (sediment, microplastics) and ultra-powdered activated carbon adsorbs many chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, VOCs, flavors and odors. While simple, the purification process does require some effort, especially as the filter nears the end of its life. Due to the filter’s small pore size, the press required to force water through the filter can be tough on your hands, arms and shoulders.

After using the Ultralight Compact Bottle for many years – there are a few key differences worth noting between the Ultralight and the UltraPress. First off: the UltraPress has a much smoother and faster press. Always try to collect flowing water for filtering – the faster, the better. Fast-flowing water has less dirt and sediment in it.

The GeoPress can purify 700ml of water in around 8 seconds when the bottle is new. The UltraPress takes close to 10 seconds to purify 500ml of water. Over time, both bottles will slow as the filters begin to clog up. When it takes around 25 seconds to purify one bottle’s worth of water, it’s time to replace the filter. Removes all waterborne pathogensincluding virus (e.g. Rotavirus, SARS, Hepatitis A, Norovirus), bacteria (e.g. E. coli, Cholera, Salmonella, Dysentery) and Protozoa (e.g. Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Amoebae). RiverFlow® spout delivers a fast-flow of clean drinking water for chugging, filling hydration reservoirs and other bottles.
