Description

One thing to note is that this is a large handheld vacuum. It’s probably the longest we’ve reviewed so far, and it doesn’t fold or collapse to save space when storing it. The Shark Cordless HandVac Pet Model is a bit of a bargain. It did a good job of cleaning our deliberate test messes, despite operating with a lower level of suction than some of its rivals. Replace the filters in the frame, the frame into the dust cup, and the dust cup onto the main vacuum body. We recommend cleaning your Shark’s filters at least once per month. You may need to wash them more regularly if you use the vacuum a lot.

The Shark Handvac only has one power setting, so it’s straightforward to operate. The button for this is easy to reach when holding the cleaner. This is important, as you’ll need to switch it on and off regularly to maximise the short battery run-time. Finally, reinstall the filter frame into the dust cup, and reattach the canister section to the vacuum body. Your Shark CH950UKT filters have now been cleaned and your vacuum is ready to use again. Other Tips for Maintaining Your Shark CH950UKT With that said, we tested the Shark CH950UKT and found it lasted around 13 minutes with the motorised pet tool attached (although this is without active cleaning). While this still isn’t enough for a deep clean, it’s perfectly acceptable for the types of cleaning jobs the Shark is designed to handle. The four-hour charge time is also around average for a handheld. Note: In the CH950UKT manual, Shark specifically mentions that you shouldn’t use a hair dryer (or any other drying tool) to speed up the process. The filters should only be air-dried. Step 5: Re-Assemble The CH950UKT The power button sits at perfect thumb height on the top of the vacuum and offers a single level of suction, while the yellow bin-release button (pictured above) sits towards the nozzle end and releases the bin downwards with a single firm press. The 12.8fl oz / 450ml bin feels plenty big enough for general car cleans, as well as cleanups around the house. You can now remove the filter frame from the dust cup. Be gentle when doing this to avoid damaging the frame. Step 2: Remove Both Filters From The Filter Housing

Remove the canister from the main body using the yellow button. Gently remove the filter frame from the dust cup.

Press this button, then gently pull the canister away from the vacuum’s handle. It should slide easily out of place.

Shark sells replacement filters for the CH950UKT. The filters should last a long time, but if they become torn or otherwise damaged then it’s important to replace them.On the other hand, the WV200UK’s pet tool isn’t motorised, unlike the CH950UKT. This makes the CH950UKT a better option for pet hair and stubborn dirt. Measuring 20.5 x 3.7 x 4.3 inches / 52 x 9.5 x 11cm, the CH950UKT / Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus is on the larger side of compact, and is probably better suited to being stored in a cupboard rather than on a countertop. It’s still an ergonomic design though, and feels good to hold, with the handle built into its main body. The Shark CH950UKT is a cordless handheld vacuum that’s designed to complement your corded vacuum cleaner, rather than replace it. We found that it’s a great tool for spot cleaning when you don’t want to get out your full-size vac, but the 10-minute run-time makes it unsuitable for longer cleaning sessions. In terms of noise, the CH950UKT / Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus measured at 88dB, which is about average for this kind of vacuum, and suction power stayed pretty consistent until right at the end, when you could hear it start to waver as the battery depleted.
